Life can be beautiful, but it can also carry experiences that leave lasting emotional weight. You may appear capable and strong on the outside while quietly carrying anxiety, intrusive memories, grief, or patterns that feel difficult to change. Many people develop ways of coping that once helped them survive difficult seasons but now leave them feeling exhausted or disconnected from themselves.
You don’t have to carry that alone.
I’m Tammy Sutton, LCSW-QS, a trauma-informed therapist and EMDR Certified Therapist. My work focuses on helping adults process trauma, anxiety, performance blocks, and painful life experiences so they can move toward greater clarity, peace, and freedom in their lives.
I believe healing is possible — not by ignoring the past, but by working through it in a safe, steady, and compassionate way.
Professional background
My path into this work began long before becoming a therapist. I spent many years in ministry leadership supporting single mothers and families, serving as a foster parent, and volunteering with survivors of human trafficking. I continue to volunteer and provide therapy to survivors, and prior to becoming a therapist, I was involved in anti-human trafficking task forces, awareness initiatives, and fundraising efforts. Through these experiences, I witnessed how trauma and unresolved emotional wounds can shape identity, relationships, and even a person’s sense of hope.
Those experiences deeply influenced my decision to pursue clinical training and specialize in trauma-informed care.
Today, through Triple R Counseling & Consulting, I provide trauma-focused therapy intensives, EMDR sessions, workshops, and retreats designed to support meaningful healing. I also serve as an EMDRIA-Approved Consultant and EMDR Basic Training Facilitator, providing consultation and support for clinicians developing their EMDR skills.
In addition to my clinical work, I have authored two children’s books: Courage to Tell and Daughter of the King. I created these books to help families educate and empower children in preventing sexual abuse.

Therapy tailored to your needs
I believe therapy should never be one-size-fits-all. Each person’s story, nervous system, and healing process are unique.
My primary modality is EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), a research-supported therapy that helps the brain reprocess distressing memories so they no longer feel overwhelming or present. When trauma remains unresolved, the nervous system can continue reacting as if the danger is still happening. EMDR and other brain-based approaches help the mind and body update those experiences so you can respond from the present rather than the past.
In addition to EMDR, I integrate approaches such as Brainspotting, sand tray therapy, parts work, and attachment-informed interventions. These tools allow us to address both the cognitive and emotional layers of healing.
Much of my work is offered through trauma-focused intensives and extended sessions, which provide uninterrupted time to do deeper work than is often possible in traditional weekly therapy. These immersive sessions allow us to move thoughtfully through important material without the start-and-stop rhythm that sometimes keeps people feeling stuck.
I also offer workshops and retreats designed to support restoration, reflection, and healing in a supportive environment.
For those who desire it, faith can also be thoughtfully integrated into the therapeutic process. As a Christian, I respect each person’s beliefs and values and welcome conversations about spiritual healing when it feels meaningful to you.
Start your healing journey today
Healing does not mean rushing your process. It means creating enough space and support for real change to take place.
Many of the people I work with are thoughtful, capable individuals who have spent years caring for others or managing life’s responsibilities while quietly carrying the weight of past experiences. Therapy can provide a place to finally slow down, process what has been carried for too long, and move forward with greater freedom and confidence.
If you are wondering whether a trauma-focused intensive or extended session may be right for you, I invite you to reach out.
I offer a complimentary 15-minute consultation so we can discuss your goals and determine whether this approach may be a good fit.
